There’s a Great, Big CLASSROOM Out Here
Not only are the great outdoors right here in the greater Lehigh Valley great, but they also provide the perfect learning environment and teaching resources for early childhood and school-age students and educators in Lehigh, Northampton, and Carbon counties.
With 14 nature preserves to explore, the Lehigh River in our backyard, and a wild array of native animal ambassadors to meet, environmental education and nature-based learning is always in season with Wildlands Conservancy.
Discover Nature, Bud Ideas & Support Standards
The truest measure of nature-based education is the curiosity sparked, the discoveries made, and ideas inspired. Our school programs nurture an environmental ethic. Working with teachers, administrators, homeschool co-ops, and childcare providers, we’re budding and growing a tomorrow for Wildlands Conservancy’s conservation and education mission.
We conduct programs for more than 20,000 children grades K-12 each year, ranging from in-school assemblies with our wildlife animal ambassadors and on-site presentations to group-specific field trips like Lehigh River Bike & Boat Adventures and after-school enrichment. We also offer programming for pre-school and early childhood, daycares, and organized groups.
All our environmental education offerings enhance schools’ curriculum and align with Pennsylvania Science, Technology & Engineering, Environmental Literacy & Sustainability (STEELS).
