2010 Public Bike and Boat Trips

Walk for Wellness trails and mapsWildlands Conservancy’s Public Bike & Boat trips are open to anyone, regardless of group size. Minimum age for trips is 10(special arrangements can sometimes be made for younger children). All equipment is provided and all trips include beginner instruction and are led by guides. Trips also include educational programs to help us learn about the unique ecosystem and the fascinating history that surrounds this very special natural resource.

Mid-summer Bike & Boat Trip
Sunday, July 25th, 1:00pm

Beat the heat with a 4.5 mile bike ride along the D&L Trail from Sand Island, Bethlehem to Canal Park in Allentown, followed by a 4.5 mile paddle on the Lehigh River back to Sand Island. Timeframe is 3.5 - 4 hours in total length; cost is $30/pp.

Walk for Wellness trails and mapsHugh Moore Park Bike & Boat Trip
Saturday, Aug. 7th, 10:00am
We’ll canoe from the Rt. 33 boat launch 2.5 miles to Hugh Moore Park, and then bicycle through the park and back to our start along the river. Learn about the fascinating history that surrounds Hugh Moore Park and its impact on the Lehigh River Corridor. Timeframe is 3.5 – 4 hours in total length; cost is $35/pp.

Full Moon Evening Bike & Boat Trip
Friday, Aug. 20th, 7:00pm

Don’t miss this trip as we bike 4.5 miles along the D&L Trail from Sand Island, Bethlehem to Canal Park in Allentown, followed by a 4.5 mile paddle on the Lehigh River back to Sand Island. We’ll stop on an island for a campfire and finish our paddle back to Sand Island as the moon rises. Trip is 3.5 – 45 hours in total length; cost is $35/pp.

Lehigh Gorge State Park – Bike the Gorge!
Saturday, Oct. 2, 9:00am
Explore the upper Lehigh River Corridor with a bike ride along the D&L Trail from White Haven to either Rockport (9 miles) or to Glen Onoko Park (21 miles). Shuttle transportation provided at the conclusion. Timeframe is 2.5 hours (Rockport exit) or 5.5 – 6 hours (Glen Onoko exit); cost is $35/pp.

Fall Foliage – Bike & Boat Trip
Saturday, Oct. 16th, 10:00am
Close out our season with this unforgettable paddle down the Lehigh River while the fall foliage is at its peak. We’ll paddle 9 miles from Canal Park in Allentown to the Wilson Avenue river access area. Shuttle transportation will be provided back to Canal Park. Timeframe is 5 – 5.5 hours; cost is $35/pp
