Public Bike and Boat TripsExplore the Lehigh River corridor in canoes and on bikes with Wildlands Conservancy’s Metro-Wilderness Adventures! All equipment is provided and all trips include beginner instruction and are led by our professional guides and special guests. Have a blast and learn about the unique ecosystem and the fascinating history that surrounds the Lehigh River. Minimum age is 10. Everyone must pre-register. Space is limited, contact us today!

Spring Fling Bike & Boat Trip
Saturday, May 12th -10:00am; Fee: $25/pp.
Enjoy a spring day and explore the new signs of life along the Lehigh River! We’ll bike from Sand Island in Bethlehem to Canal Park in Allentown, then canoe downstream on the River back to our destination while observing spring flowers other signs of the season. Celebrate Mother’s Day!
*All Moms will receive a free gift!

Father’s Day Summer Solstice Bike & Boat
Sunday, June 17th -1:00pm; Fee: $25/pp.
Celebrate these two special occasions with one great outdoor adventure! We’ll start at Sand Island in Bethlehem with a bike ride to Canal Park in Allentown, then get in canoes and paddle downriver back to Bethlehem. Help re-connect Dad to his childhood memories of nature, or just come out and celebrate life on the one of the longest days of the year.

Moonlight Bike & Boat
Saturday, June 30th - 7:00pm: Fee: $30/pp.
Don’t miss this trip as we bike along the D&L Trail from Sand Island in Bethlehem to Canal Park in Allentown, then paddle on the Lehigh River back to Sand Island. We’ll stop on an island for a campfire before finishing our paddle under the stars guided by the light of the moon.

Birding by Boat
Saturday, July 14th -9:00am; Fee: $30/pp.
Join DCNR naturalist and expert birder Rick Wiltraut as we paddle from Sand Island in Bethlehem to the Rt. 33 Boat Launch in search of neotropical birds. We’ll meet at the boat launch and provide shuttle transportation to Sand Island before paddling 9-miles downstream back to our starting point.

Public Bike and Boat TripsNavigators Bike Trip
Saturday, July 28th -10:00am; Fee: $15/pp.
Explore this newly opened section of the D&L Trail from Bowmanstown to Cementon on a 15-mile bike trip! We’ll focus on the unique history of the coal industry and transportation routes that made this trail possible and shaped the communities around it. Join special guest D&L Stewardship & Trail Manager. One-way shuttle transportation included.

Paddle to MusikFest!
Saturday, August 11th -12:00pm; Fee: $30/pp.
We’ll start at Canal Park and paddle 2-miles to Sand Island where we’ll dock our boats and enjoy the festival for a few hours before continuing our paddle to Wilson Ave. One-way shuttle transportation provided.

Evening Bike & Boat Trip
Friday, August 31st -5:00pm; Fee: $25/pp.
Explore the Lehigh River corridor at sundown on this special evening trip. We’ll meet at Sand Island and bike to Canal Park before getting in canoes and journeying downstream during the last hours of daylight. We’ll look at the unique creatures that come to life on and near the water during this short but beautiful window of dusk.

Pioneer Bike & Boat Trip
Saturday, September 8th -10:00am; Fee: $25/pp.
Explore the newly opened D&L Trail by bike between Trencher’s Bridge and Walnutport before getting in canoes and paddling back to our destination along this beautiful and exciting stretch of the Lehigh River.

Fall Foliage Paddle
Saturday, October 6th -10:00am; Fee: $30/pp.
Close out the season with our traditional paddle down the Lehigh River while celebrating this beautiful time of year and enjoying the fall foliage. We’ll paddle 9-miles from Canal Park in Allentown through the “metro-wilderness” we call home to the Wilson Avenue access near Freemansburg.

If you have a group of ten or more, we’ll set up a personalized trip for you on the date and time that you prefer. Multiple trip and program options are available- From two-hour intro sessions on flat water to full day or even overnight excursions, these programs are great for schools, churches, scouts, business, and families.
