menagerie animals are the Conservancy's most unusual employees,
and they work for wages you wouldn't believe! While
not actually peanuts, their pay might be bananas, grapes,
peaches, or even bugs.
Some
of them are a little less than perfect with physical conditions
that will not allow release back into the wild, but they're
sure to scurry, slither, hop, waddle, flap, and fly right
into you heart. These incredible
animal ambassadors, ranging from hissing cockroaches to the
magnificent birds of prey, delight everyone they meet.
This
is an opportunity to "adopt" a menagerie animal.
Your donation will help provide for its care from specialized
diet to medical examinations. In return, you will receive
a customized adoption certificate suitable for framing, and
various other benefits, from information sheets to wildlife
programs, depending upon the level of support.
The
adopt a menagerie animal program provides a chance to support
the animal menagerie used to educate and inspire Wildlands
Conservancy program participants, as well as helping the Conservancy
to continue to advocate the quality of place of our region
through educational outreach.
These
amazing animals have taught thousands of students about animal
behaviors, introduced beginning birders to avian physiology,
and have served as ambassadors for the preservation of all
animal species.
