Wildlands
Conservancy has grown considerably in size and scope
since its founding in 1973, and its success in all program
areas have been numerous.
Involving
a wide variety of partners and using a medley of creative
techniques, the Conservancy has been instrumental in
the protection of more than 31,000 acres of land in
eastern Pennsylvania.
Always
fundamental to the Conservancy's work, education plays
a significant role in linkages with our regional - and
now - international - community. Experience being the
best educator, the Conservancy has focused on getting
people actively involved in our work. Training teachers
to teach about the environment has been among our most
effective tools.
Using
science and education to address some of the region's
most complex environmental problems, Wildlands Conservancy
works with many government agencies, educational institutions,
businesses and individuals in various resource-protection
and resource enhancement programs aimed at improving
our local rivers and streams.
Wildlands
Conservancy helps people find a place to recreate ...
to re-create their connection to nature. Using the Conservancy
preserves, plus the many wonderful resources we have
locally, like the Lehigh River corridor, Wildlands Conservancy
has helped to form the means by which our citizens and
our visitors can enjoy and benefit from trails, parks
and other recreational areas.
Wildlands
Conservancy, through uniquely productive partnerships,
meets the environmental challenges facing society. Utilizing
its professional skills, the Conservancy engages in
a wide variety of planning, study and direct-action
programs. |
