There are two Class III sections on the Lehigh River Water Trail.  The first section, the Upper Gorge, starts in White Haven.  From there to Rockport, the Lehigh winds a 10 mile course containing 11 major rapids. 

The second section, the Lower Gorge, begins at Rockport and features 16 major rapids and 1000 foot canyon walls.

The Upper and Lower Gorge combined contain 27 major rapids, tumbling a total of 600 feet in 26 miles.  To view the description of the rapid, click on the rapid's name.  The descriptions of the rapids are based on a flow of 750 cubic feet per second with normal runoff.
