Wildlands Preservation Fund
Preserving Natural Areas for Future Generations
The Wildlands Conservancy’s Preservation Fund, working with several state agencies, has provided financial resources to help purchase large tracts of land for recreational purposes in eastern Pennsylvania for over two decades.
Since 1981, the Conservancy has worked with the Pennsylvania Game Commission in 18 counties in eastern Pennsylvania to add over 33,000 acres to Pennsylvania State Gamelands. The Pennsylvania Game Commission and the Conservancy work closely together, choosing strategically located parcels of land to add acreage and access to existing state gamelands. Through these cooperative efforts and in partnership with landowners, government agencies, wildlife organizations, and individuals, the Conservancy has been able to enhance the opportunities and experiences of hunters, anglers, hikers, birdwatchers, and other wildlife enthusiasts on state gamelands in eastern Pennsylvania.
At the beginning of the 21st century, many more areas of eastern Pennsylvania are under increased development pressure. Wildlands Conservancy, through the Wildlands Preservation Fund, is committed to sheltering as much of the remaining natural area in the region as possible. In addition to public recreation use, preserved state gamelands
also increase and protect wildlife habitat, wetlands and watersheds, and scenic vistas in the region.
The work of Wildlands Conservancy in this regard takes commitment and money.
We need your support to help in raising the funds needed for these critical land acquisitions.
Wildlands Conservancy is a not-for-profit, member-supported, tax-exempt organization created for public benefit.
