Directions to Mauch Chunk Lake Park in Jim Thorpe, Pa.

From Philadelphia or the Lehigh Valley:  Head North on 476 to Exit 74 Mahoning Valley Exchange (old N.E. PA Turnpike to Exit #34); At end of ramp, bear Right onto Rt. 209 South (follow Rt. 209 through Lehighton into Jim Thorpe).  In the center of Jim Thorpe at the light (on Susquehanna Street), turn Left on Broadway.  Follow Broadway (which becomes Lentz Trail) approx. 4 miles.  Turn Left into Main Entrance of Mauch Chunk Lake Park.  Follow road to the Right, give your name at the gate and indicate you’re with the “Lehigh River Sojourn.”  Follow road into camping area, past two pavilions and past through the gate.  Continue straight (road bends to the Right), past the bathrooms on the Right and park in lot behind.  Please check-in at the registration table in the Ginder-Vermillion Pavilion.  After check-in, proceed to set up camp in sites A, B, F, H, I, K, L, M, O, P, Q, R, S, and T.

From New York or New Jersey:  I-80 WEST from the George Washington Bridge thru New Jersey to PA Exit 304 (old Exit 46A) (Snydersville–Rt. 209S).  FOLLOW SIGNS TO LEHIGHTON ON RT. 209S.  At 7 miles, Rt. 209 separates from Rt. 33-STAY IN RIGHT LANE, TAKE 209S LEHIGHTON EXIT.  Continue on Rt. 209S approx. 21 miles to Lehighton.  Travel thru Lehighton on Rt. 209S - 4 miles to Jim Thorpe.  Make a Left at first stoplight in Jim Thorpe's business district go approximately 4 miles from this stoplight. The Main Entrance to Park is on Left.  Follow road to the Right, give your name at the gate and indicate you’re with the “Lehigh River Sojourn.”  Follow road into camping area, past two pavilions and past through the gate.  Continue straight (road bends to the Right), past the bathrooms on the Right and park in lot behind.  Please check-in at the registration table in the Ginder-Vermillion Pavilion.  After check-in, proceed to set up camp in sites A, B, F, H, I, K, L, M, O, P, Q, R, S, and T.

From Harrisburg - ROUTE 81 TAKE McADOO EXIT 138:  Take 309 South to 3rd Stoplight (Hometown), make a Left onto Route 54, continue into Nesquehoning, take 209 North to Jim Thorpe to second stoplight.  Go straight you are in the business district of Jim Thorpe. Go 4 miles from this light the entrance to the Park is on your Left.  Follow road to the Right, give your name at the gate and indicate you’re with the “Lehigh River Sojourn.”  Follow road into camping area, past two pavilions and past through the gate.  Continue straight (road bends to the Right), past the bathrooms on the Right and park in lot behind.  Please check-in at the registration table in the Ginder-Vermillion Pavilion.  After check-in, proceed to set up camp in sites A, B, F, H, I, K, L, M, O, P, Q, R, S, and T.
